Ever since the beginning of time there has been good versus evil. This is no exception with the game of golf. God gave us the game of golf being good and Satan gave us the slice being evil.

If there is one thing that is common in most all golfers it’s the slice. If you’re ever going to learn how to stop slicing the ball you’ll have to learn a couple of things about what causes the golf ball to slice.

Let’s start with your grip. You want a medium strength grip not to light and not too heavy. A weak grip causes a slice because it opens the clubface. Once you have fixed your grip you will next need to view at your stance. Both the stance and the grip are key factors in the overall setup of your golf swing. This is the foundation of your golf swing, without this foundation being strong you either slice the ball or have a swing that will result in other negative outcomes. You want to make definite that your factual foot points straight ahead and your left foot is ever so slightly to the left. Keep your feet shoulder width apart. Once you have a proper set up with your grip and your stance then it’s time to take a look at your swing.

The main cause of the slice is an open club face at impact. What we want to do is make sure that the clubface is square to the target which will create a straight path for the ball once in flight. A advantageous way to see it you have a proper swing is to video tape yourself. You want a swing plane that is neither too steep nor too shallow. Oftentimes it’s hard to tell what you’re doing as you’re swinging. The video tape will be a good judge for you. Another good tool is to swing in some tall grass not too large but about three or 4 inches high. Take some practice swings and then look at where the grass is going. Everyone can tell you how to do this or that but the critical thing is to develop a swing that is comfortable for you. Take some time to practice a swing that fits your body type and make sure to get your clubface square at impact. Once you do that the game of golf will be more enjoyable and you’ll be able to win more money from your buddies.

Experienced golfers can eye a hole’s distance, but even they’re not perfect at it. Rather than entrust your game to a guess, improve it by buying a golf rangefinder. Here’s 10 tips to make that process easier:

1. Know your golf course. Rangefingers have different ranges, and the best one for you might depend on where you play. Your rangefinder should always be able to see past the longest hole at the course. If you recede often and like to play more challenging courses, you should buy a rangefinder with more distance capabilities. Magnifications usually hurry between 5x and 8x.

2. Know your eyes. Rangefinders come with one or two eyepieces. If you have glasses, it may be easier to buy a two-eyepiece model so that you don’t have to adjust your vision as much. One-eyepiece models are more totable, so if you have perfect vision, these models may be better for you. Some models also have technology that reduces the strain on your eyes caused by looking through the eyepieces.

3. Learn the technical terminology. Simpler golf rangefinders will only allow you to see your target, but more expensive ones will attend you see it through poor weather, tree branches and reflective objects. The biggest thing to pay attention to is scan. This mode provides a regular relate of the hole and distance to and from it as you scan it from afar.

4. Take a look at the lenses. Some of the more expensive models come with coatings that help improve your plan of the tee. My husband swears that he can see the flag better with his new rangefinder, which has a special coating on it to clarify the picture.

Although you’ll come by plenty of opinions on the Internet and among novice players, your range’s golf pro is another really good source to use when you’re stuck between buying a few models of rangefinders. If they don’t have experience with your preferred model, someone else that they play with might know.

8. Browse the accessories. Golf rangefinders are fair like cameras, so you will want to buy lens covers and the same protection equipment that you would for a new SLR. Don’t forget to add in the price of a lens cleaner safe for a rangefinder into your total, as you will want to maintain the narrate as sharp as possible when you’re out on the back nine.

9. Choose the upright store. You can buy a rangefinder on the Internet, but the store might not have an additional warranty program available. While warranty programs might not be worth it for a cheaper rangefinder, they come in handy if your $900 model breaks after you’ve spied the perfect shot.

Anybody that has taken golf seriously at some point in their life has inevitably read an article or two about golf tips. It is most likely that these tips have come from some of the most righteous professionals and teachers. Despite their more than well-behaved credentials, these professionals can ruin your golf game, albeit not on purpose.

The problem lies in the fact that golf is a very individual sport. Because of the intricacies of the golf swing, each player will swing the club differently. This fact means that there is no such thing as one “perfect” swing. It is possible that each person will have their own “perfect” swing. These “perfect” swings will depend on flexibility, strength and athleticism and is possible for it to change through a person’s lifetime.

Golf tips can range from course management to swing mechanics. Usually course management tips, escaping a bunker, putting tips, etc. won’t damage your game. However, tips regarding a full swing can spell a golfer’s doom. Because each individual’s swing can differ so greatly, a general rule regarding a swing can actually be the antithesis to the swing the player is trying to effect. Without having a professional teacher watch your swing, there is no possible way that every suggestion found in magazines is going to succor your game. It is possible that a suggestion may be directed toward your swing type, however, it is just as likely that it will be directed more toward a different type of golf swing.

To make a very long story short, these pros know what they are doing, don’t get me wrong on that. However, nothing can beat the assistance received from a golf pro that can view at your swing and help you to swing in a way that is best suited for your ability, flexibility and overall body type.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2007 is another great game in EA Sport’s successful golf franchise. Last year’s game was too easy and unrealistic, while this year’s game features much more realistic gameplay. A new version of the PGA Tour season, with the new Fed Ex cup adds a a new dimension to gameplay and the Tiger Challenge is a fun and challenging way to get to a final showdown with Tiger himself.

Last year’s edition of Tiger Woods PGA Tour was fun, but not really realistic. The gamebreaker feature allowed golfers to make double eagles and hole in ones at least once a match. Putting was easy as there was a guide onscreen showing the player where to putt. This year’s title is powerful more realistic, turning the putt camera off and taking away gamebreaker. The results is a much more realistic gameplay.

Also, the new loft stick allows players to close or open the club head face for high-lofted shits or to be able to terminate the face for punch shots under trees. The rest of the gameplay, with spin control, power boost, and the swing stick remains the same. However, this year’s swing stick is much less forgiving than this year’s causing erratic shots if the swing is not smooth and straight. These new gamplay features design a distinguished more challenging and realistic game.

The new graphics on consoles such as the XBOX 360 and the Playstation three are beautiful on high definition televisions, as the game is HDTV compatible. Current features such as a very cool training space allow you to train your golfer to increase his or her’s skills. One thing that is worse than the last year’s game is the pro shop, I miss the old school clubs and clothes as I could dress my guy in a kilt this year. Another downgrade from last year is the fact that buying clothes and clubs affects your skills. I would rather just earn the skills on the course and not have to worry about buying clothes or equipment to increase skills.

The PGA season is more realistic than last year’s as it is all but impossible to shoot a 53, like I did in last year’s game. Scores are distinguished more realistic with grievous 60’s being a great round, objective like on the real PGA tour. The Tiger challenge is a ladder match whee you have to beat 16 real and imaginary golfers in order t fetch to a final showdown against Tiger and it is alot of fun. However, I liked last year’s Tiger Challenege where you went back in time to face Tiger and golfers such as Old Tom Morris, Jack Nicklaus, and Bobby Jones.

Overall, this year’s edition of Tiger Woods PGA tour is more trustworthy to older versions in gameplay and graphics, but I select the story modes and pro shop of the previous titles. However, gameplay is more necessary than extras and story mode, so I give this year’s game 8 out of 10 stars.

Every golfer dreams of hitting the perfect tee shot, setting the ball softly on the green, or sinking a 30-foot putt. What they do not realize many times is their choice of golf balls could execute a huge difference in their game.

In fact, one common mistake most golfers make is choosing a golf ball that is used by their favorite pro. That’s almost always a poor idea – and the ill effects can be do a lot of damage to your handicap and have you frustrated to the point you are ripping up your score card before the turn.

After not playing any tournaments since June of last year, Tiger Woods gives the impression that he is more than ready to return to the tournament world of golf. His surgery has been deemed a success and assuming this is good, he will be playing on two good legs this year. Since legs are a source of power in any golf swing, this means Tiger will have all of his playing tools available this year for the first time in many months. Tiger has the will and drive to construct a mark in his golf career that will become the goal in the future to rate any broad golfer against. There is no doubt that this goal is the one he wants to station and this year could be the beginning of a new run against all of the existing records that are within his great playing skill. Now that Tiger is healthy again, the other pros will quickly become aware of his presence on the tour.

When he showed his will to glean in the US Open, while playing on a game leg, he exhibited his ability to focus his mind in the face stiff competition and a very painful leg. Tiger’s will to win puts him in the class of Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. All four of these players showed this element of their game that separated them from other skilled players. In addition to this mental toughness, Tiger has another factor that is obvious when you look his play around the greens. He has an imagination in his play that defies what other players see or even do. Couple these two traits and you have what separated his play from all of the other golfers on the tour. It is this ability that makes the return of Tiger to the game that has many golf lovers counting down until the first major of the year. We the fans of the game can hardly wait for his comeback, but I am sure that other players on the tour are not that anxious to feel the pressure he brings to the game of a Sunday afternoon. He like Nicklaus, Palmer and Hogan brings a presence to the game that is not easily overlooked This season is one that golf fans all over the world are anticipating, looking forward to watching his ample play when it counts and seeing if he can resume his quest to be the best of all time. A shining gambler would not bet against Mr. Woods.

His extreme focus on winning, his ability to control his desires and his skills come through is a remarkable single trait of his play up to this time. He can do what others only wish to do and under circumstances that grip solid players making them fearful and tentative. What a marvelous prospect this coming season conjures up in the golf lover’s mental eye. Many have been thinking about this year as spectators. Think about what the players he will confront at any given tournament and the mental preparation they will need to bring to their game this season. His game and just being in the field will make others rise to a better level than they usually exhibit or make them look like a Sunday hacker. Tiger’s advantage in the game is just showing up to play on Thursday. That is true of the other stout players Tiger is compared too, except he may be even better than any of them. The fantasy game for trusty lovers of the game is who would win if they could all play now as they did in their prime and with the current equipment that is in use today. So the only way to rate them now is to compare their individual records and see who comes out on top. In my view, Tiger will be the leader when all is said and done at the ruin of his career.

For those of you that know, and those of you that don’t, our two-year-old son Sean is on the Autism Spectrum. He was diagnosed about a itsy-bitsy over a year ago after we noticed changes in his speech. He hit every milestone right on time as an infant. Looked dreamily into my eyes when I held him, said Mama and Dada, baba, see (for Sissy) and a couple other words that run me now. At about 15-16 months he started to change. The words stopped and the screeching began. He would screech so loudly and high-pitched that it could be heard by people I was on the phone with while standing outside of the house. We used to be able to take him to restaurants and he would sit there like a champ and eat. Then one fateful day at Steak N Shake my husband and daughter nearly got into a fight with a woman who said, “Just how long are we going to have to listen to that child scream? “. That was the waste of restaurant meals with the family. He would get into his own little world and lay on the floor and see the wheels of his cars as he moved them back and forth. He stopped looking at you when you called his name. All of this happened after his MMR vaccine. Believe what you will about immunizations, ask any mother of an autistic child when they saw their baby slip into their own world. Immunizations are WONDERFUL! I’m a nurse, of course that’s what I’ve always believed. Just not so many, so soon, for all kids.

I talked to my Pediatrician about my concerns. “He’s a boy….boys talk later”. Hmmm… “But if it makes you feel better Mom, fill out this questionnaire and send it in to the First Words Project at FSU. So I did. I filled it out in the parking lot while Patrick was at his Karate class. It was on purple paper. I’ll never forget it. I was sure I was overreacting and everything would be comely.

They called one day. (First Words) We’d like to see Sean to evaluate him. Of course you do, I thought. You need to justify your research grants…ok, I’m game, let’s do it.

So we did.

After his evaluation, Sean was playing on the floor of the evaluation room with the cars (of course) and Dan and I sat there with our evaluator, Vickie. She looked at us from across the table and said, “Sean definitely has the red flags for Autism”.

Just like that? Really? After just seeing him for what? 30 minutes?

Just like that.

I don’t know how mighty I processed after that. It felt like someone had kicked me in the stomach, ripped my heart out, and squashed it under their boot. I choked attend tears and impartial kept thinking, “Don’t weep.” I don’t hide my emotions very well. The more I tried not to weep the more I thought I was going to throw up. I think Dan was asking a lot of questions, he remained a skeptic about the diagnosis for a long time after even. I really don’t remember much, but I know I finally cried. Vickie did her very best to comfort me. It must suck to give that kind of news to a parent.

We left their office with our little boy in our arms. I cried and cried. I kept retracing 9 months of pregnancy and 12 months of nursing…what had I done? What did I eat? What was I exposed to? I followed all the rules! I did everything factual! Crack heads have perfect kids, WHY? Sad, angry, deflated, we drove home.

I had long talks with my closest friends over the next few days. And the most valuable thing that was said was, “He’s the same little boy you walked in there with”. That was right, I was hovering over Sean every minute. I didn’t want to leave him, I had to protect him. I must have been trying to accomplish up for the fact that I had let Autism get him. So I pulled my shoulders benefit, lifted up my head, and got ready to earn to work on this. My friend, Jen, told me that if anyone could handle this it was me. “I know you, you’ll read everything you can catch your hands on about this. You’ll do everything you can as his Mom, and you’ll do what’s right for him” She was lawful, I wasn’t going to take this lying down.

What next? Well, we became participants in a research study through First Words and the “Autism Speaks” project. The first 9 months was weekly playgroup with interventionists, parents, and their children to help us with strategies to work with our children. The second 9 months was and is ongoing, 25 hours of engaged time with Sean (with us), 2 visits per week by an interventionist, 1 playgroup per week, and many different evaluations throughout. We are in this second phase and will be until May when it ends. Everything is video taped much to my dismay. I haven’t always looked my best when they come to the house at 10am. It will be great to eye aid on though one day after Sean recovers. In addition to this, we were having weekly visits from a Speech Therapist named Chris. One hour a week in our home with Sean. I stood in my kitchen with Chris last Spring and told her I didn’t consider we were doing enough. What can we do? Chris was working on creating a summer camp at her office for kids on the spectrum that were too young for the Set programs. And that is what we did….we started Sean there in May 2008. 3 days a week from 9-12. What a Godsend the people are over there at Capital Therapy! They are family to us now, just as the ladies at First Words have become. Sean will continue at Capital Therapy’s “Beyond Words” program until Fall 2009 when he will be able to attend pre-school through the school district. He’s eligible at his 3rd Birthday in February, but we have decided to keep him with Chris until Fall.

Sean is amazing in so many ways. He has this crazy athletic ability that you would have to behold to fill. At two years old he is 40 inches tall and 40 lbs. He wears a size six from the boys section. He’s as big as a 1st grader. He can throw and kick a football. He’ll line it up and wait for you to call a play, say hut, then he runs or throws it. He has valid golf clubs that he swings and hits a ball farther than I can. His Dad says he has a “natural swing” for those of you who know what that means. He can hit a plastic baseball pitched to him. That T-ball stand is collecting dust. We do the real thing now. He loves basketball and tried to prick into a game that a couple 7th graders were playing at the park. You should’ve seen him guarding this kid, trying to get the ball. He’ll sit and watch sports with his dad as if it were cartoons. Amazing and weird Watch for him on Sports Center.

So, it’s been a long road this past year. It’s been hard on mom, dad, sissy, and pat, but especially Sean. He has great receptive language. Don’t talk over him, he knows exactly what you are saying. The screaming comes and goes, but is so considerable less now. Especially since he has relearned the signs I taught him as a baby and the additional signs he’s learned at Capital Therapy. Those have helped him tell us what he needs before he has the words for something. He jumped into the arms of a friend of mine tonight from out of town, a stranger to him, and played with her for an hour. That NEVER happens. He has so many approximations and words that I couldn’t even remember all of them to list on his last evaluation.

On Christmas Eve at my parent’s house, I got the greatest gift ever. Sean put two words together for the first time! He pointed at the dog crate and told my Mom’s dog “Go Nite nite!” Only Patrick and I heard it, but it was celebrated by all. Now he will frequently tell you to “Go away”. I love it!

Now to the end of the story and to the point I have been trying to make. As of January 29th, less than one month to go until Sean’s 3rd Birthday he says the following words or approximations of them:
Mama, dada, sissy, pat, fish, water, dog, kitty, juice, outside, high, low, around, feet, five, shirt, poop, potty, bath, tub, bye bye, Hi, Aunnie (his God Mother’s name), car, truck, swing, up, hug, night, phone, sip, book, down, sand, ewww, bug, flower, bee, buzz, tree, plane, moon, star, ball, Brett (for Brett Favre), hair, eyes, nose, belly, boobie, balloon, cheese, pizza, pretty, shoes, socks, rawr (dinosaurs), nana, papa, teeth. And last but not least….my son said S#$% today. I’m as proud as I can be about that!

Our journey isn’t over with Sean. He will recover from this. You can recover from Autism. He will go to college one day and maybe one day you’ll cheer for him as he’s awarded the Heisman Trophy. Who knows, maybe he’ll find a cure for cancer, or even become President. Whatever it is, it’s going to be great.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 for Nintendo Wii was released June 10, 2009. Of course being a huge fan of the 09′ version I had to check it out. The 2010 version was released with the recent Motion Control Plus which is an adapter that comes in a novel Wii remote jacket and plugs into the bottom of the remote. It gives the player heightened sensitivity in their remote when playing the game. From my experience with it so far it definitely works, almost a small too well.

Those of you who are venerable to the 09′ version may have some trouble getting used to the swinging aspect in 10′ because of the Motion Control Plus. With just the slightest tweak of the remote you send your ball into a severe draw or fade which can get very annoying at first. It does allow you the option to turn on the All Play swing that most of you may be used to from the 09′ version but it’s a little different. It gives you an arc to show where the ball will land and the target is very jumpy when trying to move it around.

One similarity is the difficulty of playing with a new profile player. Starting off with no power, spin and accuracy can be frustrating but stick with it and soon your player will kick butt. Another huge difference that the Motion Control Plus brings is the precision putting which is nothing like the old putting. In the old version you would determine the length and speed of your putt by the percentage of your back swing. With precision putting your putt is calculated by the power of your back swing and follow through and believe me when I roar you it’s’ extremely sensitive. Looking at the percentage bar does not help at all. It definitely is more true to real life putting.

Once again 10′ brings back the mini games with golf party which is always fun to mess around with when friends are over. Online play is back for those of you who take it seriously and like to keep the competitive edge in your game. There are a couple new features added this year.
